THIS IS AN ARCHIVE POST FROM 2014
Last week I was filming with Zita Görög, a well-known Hungarian model, actress and television personality, and for the first time, Virivee is going to appear on a TV show that is actually about fashion and aimed at the kind of audience I want to reach.
All my previous TV appearances have been for business-related reasons where I appeared as a “businesswoman.” This time it’s different because Trendmania is a fashion and lifestyle show that airs on RTL Klub on Saturdays. The episode I’m in is going to be broadcast sometime in the next few weeks.
The timing couldn’t be better. This could be really good advertising for the Virivee shop on Dob Street, which is opening soon, and I’m hoping we’ll have lots of customers coming through the door before Christmas.
The crew was really lovely and professional, and they helped me with everything they could. Especially because, just like during my previous filming, I managed to get sick on exactly the day of the shoot.
So every 20 minutes we had to take a little “blow my nose” break. Then they had to redo my makeup. Because apparently, tissues are extremely effective at removing makeup from your nose.
So without the makeup artist, the whole show might have ended up featuring nothing but one enormous red nose with the rest of me somewhere behind it.
But there is good news too. I’m finally starting to get the hang of filming and interviews. I can behave much more naturally in front of a camera now, and unlike during my earlier appearances, I didn’t feel particularly uncomfortable when we had to shoot a scene again.
If you’ve never been in this situation, it’s probably difficult to imagine how awkward it can feel when you’re not used to it.
There are certainly natural moments during filming, but quite often you have to repeat things, do exactly the same thing from a different angle, or simply “smile naturally and spontaneously” at the camera. That last one still doesn’t really work for me. Hopefully I’ll get the hang of that eventually too. 🙂
