I’m a tights designer, maker, and the person behind Virivee tights.

I have a background in graphic and web design, and later I also studied interior design. I like drawing (studied for many years!), doing crafts, experimenting with materials, and generally finding ways to turn an idea into something that exists in real life.
I have ADHD, so I like finding out how things work, trying to make them myself, and usually discovering somewhere in the process that it is more complicated than I thought, but I still try to make them 😀.

Over the years I have worked on quite a lot of different things. At the beginning of my adult life, for many years I designed websites and graphics, later made clothes and accessories, experimented with textiles and printing, worked with packaging, designed bicycle accessories, opened a cafe, pitched to investors, played around with photography and somewhere along the way I collected a slightly ridiculous amount of different skills.

In 2013, I started making tights. At first I definitely did not think that the first tights I created for fun would lead to a business. But it did and Virivee was born, and I ended up designing a lot of tights for the brand, so far around 400–500 different designs.

I create my designs myself, combining my own drawings and designs with old illustrations and other sources to create the finished patterns. Over the years my techniques changed, my designs changed, the way I work changed, and I learned a lot of things that I never expected to need to know about designing tights.

I still like experimenting. Not everything has to become a bestseller, sometimes I just want to try a weird idea and I hope that someone will like the product the same way I like them myself.

I am also not particularly good at keeping my interests in separate boxes. A graphic design idea can turn into a textile project, or something I see in an old book can end up as an illustration. A random material can make me want to try a completely different technique. And sometimes a project starts simply because I was curious whether I could do it or not. I still have plenty of other creative interests and hobbies, even if they don't become actual projects or products.

I’m based in Spain (Málaga), where I work on my designs and projects from my workshop.
